Thank you! I am excited to read through the material and move forward….I am originally from Wisconsin but currently reside in our Nations Capital “DC” my daughter is 4 months old and have personality out of this world I was searching the web for pageants she would be able to participant in but unfortunately there are none in DC for her age and our neighbors VA and MD has many but too far to travel in short notice so we will try them in the Fall. I am a Business Major and always looking for more ideas I am considering of giving this pageant industry a try while I understand she would not be able to participate in the pageants I will Direct. I am pleased and happy to give this opportunity to others who are interested. I was not raised in Pageant industry so I know very little however I did participate once in the Miss Milwaukee Pageant part of the Miss America Pageant industry in 2005 and won Miss Congeniality. Overall I feel Pageants are more than beauty but stepping stones into be a professional women who will work hard for what she wants. Ms. Shelly thank you for dedication because once again you are making dreams come true one day at a time.

Pageant Fund Raiser can generate money and contestants

General

The cook off was a huge success and proceded went to Candi Reese, a local pageant director in Louisiana, who is fighting throat cancer. Our prayers are with you Candi and your custom banners are beautiful.

A fundraiser gets folks off the sofa and on to the pageant events. Having a fund raiser can generate new potential contestants and money for the production. Here is some info for a cook off that I am having the night before my pageant on Sunday.

The entry fee to enter the cook off is $20. There will be two winners. One for the deserts and one for the hot food dishes. Chef Beth Macaluso will be judging at 5:30Pm. The food tables will be open after judging.

If you are a Queen and have a title, this can be festival, farm bureau.parish, city or state queen. You can enter and make an appearance. Bring a copy of your recipe and your dish, with serving spoon. You can be creative with displaying your dish.
 Dress attire should be casual/dressy!

Will You Become A franchise or Not????

General

As a director, you may be given the opportunity to become a state or local director for a franchise pageant. Congratulations. You are noticed and accepted. Wow!  You may or may not choose to be a part of this pageant arena. But, if you are do, what a wonderful opportunity awaites you. My journey as a franchise director came to me in 2001 for the Mrs Louisiana United States Director for Louisiana. This was such an awarding year for me and my pageant business. I became state director for teen & Ms also. I traveled to Las vegas where the national pageants was held for several years and have seen such passion and triumph for the ladies and their families. I also became a franchise director for Miss Plus America pageant Systems for Louisiana and My mrs Louisiana became Mrs Plus America. This year we continue our success as we strive for excellence using the visability of the CROWN and banner.

How to Obtain Sponsors for your Pageant!

General

Tiffany Dufrene from Louisiana wrote me asking how to get sponsors for her pageant?  I suggest going to local businesses and ask if they would be interested in being an Official Sponosr for your pageant. You can offer them a full or half page ad in the program book for in exchange of gifts donated to your winners.

Try a local florist, they can sponsor the bouquet’s for the winners in exchange for being the Official Florist!

Try a favorite restaurant to host your judges luncheon for in exchange of an ad.

Try a jeweler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try beauty salons, tanning, nails, gift shops and photographers. All these businesses would be delighted to donate something in exchange for advertisement that markets a new crowd.

As a director you should have a sponsor letter that you can type the contestants name on it and they can take it around to family and friends to help raise their entry fees for your pageant.

Go to my www.shellyspageantexpress.com and visit the sponsor page for more ideas that can advertise on your website!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Pageanting,

shelly
